National Account Manager – Kroger

Talento has partnered with a fast-growing and innovative CPG Company to find a National Account Manager for their nutritious portfolio of products. This role will focus on developing the strategy to expand their business across all Kroger divisions/subsidiaries. They will partner with cross functional team members to support and develop programs to accelerate growth. An ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of Kroger’s operations, systems and strategies as well as a track record of partnering with category managers and other internal team members to accelerate business across both existing and new categories. Looking for a driven self-starter with a strong solution sales orientation and category management approach with an in-depth knowledge of and ability to leverage 84.51°/Market6 data.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for driving growth at Kroger nationally through developing relationships with category management and other internal Kroger team members
- Develop promotional strategy/calendar and partner with cross functional team to ensure execution of programs that achieve budget goals and deliver profitable volume growth
- Analyze 84.51°/Market6 data to derive and translate strategic customer and shopper insights into effective category selling presentations to improve merchandising, assortment, pricing and shelving initiatives
- Expand and optimize distribution by developing and presenting brand expansion opportunities to Kroger Category Managers and by supporting category captaincy/advisership opportunities
- Partner with Marketing team to develop value-added programs to drive increased retail performance including shopper marketing and cross partnerships
- Handle administrative needs to ensure flawless execution including contract submissions and new item forms
- Provide forecasts and work with the customer service team to develop monthly, quarterly and annual demand plans to ensure appropriate inventory levels
- Support Kroger banners/subsidiaries via quarterly meetings
- Provide support to field merchandising teams on key priorities and conduct regular market visits
- Work with Category Management team to support reporting and analysis for internal team/planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications or related field
- 7-10 years of relevant sales/category management experience with 3+ years of Kroger business management
- Expertise in utilizing 84.51°/Market6 data to develop strategic insights and compelling sales presentations
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals at Kroger
- Experience in both direct sales and broker/distributor management is a plus.
- Effective communication skills, collaboration, attention to detail, initiative and results oriented
- Strong business acumen demonstrated through solid understanding of sales and profit drivers
- Able to identify and build relationships with key Kroger decision makers
- Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
- Strong experience in sales planning, forecasting and trade spend management
- Thrives in a team environment; loves to win and build a business
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Ability to travel up to 25%+ of time (account/broker/sales meetings and trade shows)
