Payroll & Benefits Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Benefits Generalist to join a growing organization based out of Miami. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in day-to-day activities on payroll processing, benefits administration (including new hire enrollment and invoicing), and worker's comp & FMLA claims. The Payroll and Benefits Generalist will be responsible for assisting in accurate and timely processing of payroll, managing employee benefits programs, and providing excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Director on running semi-monthly payroll along with all audit functions, acting as a backup when needed  
  • Ensure all timecards are accurately reflected and captured though payroll process  
  • Lead all aspects of Benefit plan administration, including overseeing open enrollment and new hire enrollment and as a part of the onboarding process. 
  • Act as a backup to Director on the 401K plan administration, ensuring accurate entries on each payroll and addressing day to day employee queries.  
  • Lead the processing of all benefit invoices on a timely basis; conduct quarterly audits to ensure invoices are paid accurately and in a timely manner.  
  • Handle compliance reporting such as Vets 4212, EEO1, AAP, and others. 
  • Collaborate with Talent & Culture team on employee engagement events.    
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from team members.
  • Handle all verifications of employment requests and oversee the process from start to finish. 
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, Payroll and Benefits, and employment law.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in HR, with ideally 3+ years of payroll and benefits focused role 
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
