Vice President, Development

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Vice President of Development with a strong background in infrastructure engineering to support a growing international portfolio company. As the Director of Development, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of cruise port related projects ensuring their successful execution from initial concept to final completion. Your expertise in development coupled with your strategic mindset and leadership abilities, will play a crucial role in driving the growth and operational efficiency of our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with key vendors who provide technical leadership and guidance in geotechnical engineering, overseeing the design and analysis of foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and other geotechnical elements 
  • Lead and manage large scale projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and stakeholders, to integrate geotechnical considerations into project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and address any potential issues or delays, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, productivity, and quality across geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancement and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and technical expert.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and bids to showcase the company's capabilities and win new projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in development, ideally ports with a strong focus on project management.
  • Highly preferred to have a track record in successfully delivering large scale infrastructure projects within budget and on schedule.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Business acumen and experience in business development activities, such as client relationship management and proposal preparation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Able to travel up to 25-30% of the time; nationally and internationally.
  • Able to work in office in downtown Miami Monday through Friday when not traveling.
