Manager, Content Platform & Digital Delivery
Position Summary
The Manager, Content Platform & Digital Delivery is a hybrid leadership role combining Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Content Management Lead responsibilities. This individual owns the content platform strategy, agile delivery process, and content operations end-to-end, ensuring the platform evolves to meet business objectives and delivers measurable outcomes.
The role requires a self-starter with strong CMS expertise, agile delivery experience, and the ability to bridge technical and business teams. This person will manage platform roadmaps, lead development and publishing workflows, and ensure content operations support commercial and customer engagement goals.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Agile Delivery
- Own the content management platform roadmap, vision, priorities, and success metrics.
- Serve as Scrum Master for the CMS development team, leading sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement, and release planning.
- Manage Jira backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint readiness, and team delivery performance.
- Identify and remove project blockers, manage risks, and ensure successful execution of platform initiatives.
- Drive agile best practices, continuous improvement, and team accountability.
- Track and report delivery KPIs, velocity, roadmap progress, and program health metrics.
CMS Platform Strategy & Governance
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for the enterprise CMS platform.
- Maintain deep understanding of CMS architecture, workflows, templates, components, publishing processes, and integrations.
- Evaluate platform capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize enhancements aligned with business needs.
- Develop business cases for platform investments, upgrades, and new capabilities.
- Oversee CMS enhancements, integrations, governance, and release quality.
- Ensure analytics, tagging, and performance tracking are properly implemented.
Content Operations & Publishing Leadership
- Define and optimize content operations, publishing workflows, and governance standards.
- Lead content publishing activities, ensuring accuracy, speed, and alignment with business priorities.
- Partner with marketing, content, SEO, CRM, and digital teams to support campaigns and audience engagement strategies.
- Improve content production efficiency through process optimization and workflow enhancements.
- Establish content performance measurement frameworks and operational KPIs.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Marketing, Technology, Product, Sales, and Editorial teams to align platform priorities with business goals.
- Communicate platform roadmaps, delivery progress, and operational performance to stakeholders and leadership.
- Support technology adoption, training, and onboarding initiatives.
- Contribute to team development, hiring, coaching, and organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in digital product management, content platform ownership, CMS administration, or agile delivery.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise CMS platforms such as Magnolia, Adobe Experience Manager, Drupal, or WordPress.
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, SSM, or equivalent) and strong experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies.
- Proven experience managing backlogs, user stories, sprint planning, and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Strong knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and agile project management tools.
- Ability to translate business requirements into actionable platform enhancements and delivery plans.
- Experience connecting content operations and platform capabilities to business outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with web analytics, content performance measurement, SEO, and digital marketing best practices preferred.
