Tax Supervisor

The Tax Supervisor will oversee tax engagements, manage project components, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, conducting complex research, and mentoring staff while collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead tax engagements by preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and draft comprehensive reports to address technical and regulatory issues.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by building strong client relationships, addressing inquiries, and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Manage responses to IRS and state tax audits, regulatory notices, and compliance inquiries.
- Contribute to business development by preparing proposals, budgets, and process improvements to enhance client services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license or significant progress toward certification.
- Experience: 6+ years in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx Tax, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite; strong analytical, technical, and research skills.
- Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities; adept at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
