Regional Distribution & Franchisee Support Manager
Talento has partnered with a large quick service franchise on a search for a Manager of Regional Distribution & Franchisee Support Manager in Toronto. This individual will be the key contact for all supported franchisees across ~400 restaurants and is responsible for ensuring supply at the best cost by managing distribution, proactively resolving and reporting supply chain issues, and supporting fresh and frozen bakery and all other activities for the restaurant systems to maximize value. This individual will provide excellent service and support to all team members, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.

The primary responsibility for this Manager is the relationship management between the restaurant owners and the assigned distributors and bakeries in addition to being the primary liaison and point of contact.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain external relationships with supported franchisees and their teams, distributors, bakeries, key suppliers and restaurant field team representatives.
  • Build and maintain internal relationships with internal and external departments including, but not limited to, Food & Packaging Purchasing (F&P), Promotions Planning & Inventory Management (PPIM), Equipment & Facilities Purchasing (E&F) and Distribution & Logistics (D&L). 
  • Manage distributors’ service and performance to established standards. Create and maintain accurate monitoring of issues and resolution activities. Review key performance indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis. 
  • Proactively review distributor holiday delivery schedules and re-routes for completeness, identify need for gap orders and ensure timely communication to members and their teams.
  • Proactively monitor distributor inventory of key items. Work with distributor and suppliers to resolve supply issues. Promptly notify F&P and PPIM departments of supplier related issues. 
  • Work with F&P department to resolve issues between distributors and suppliers related to product damage, payments, late trucks, excess fees, and other issues negatively affecting a functional working relationship between assigned suppliers and distributors.
  • Assist in the sourcing, negotiation and contracting of distribution services for franchisees.
  • Manage distributor response to and execution of recalls and withdrawals including supporting product resupply activity. 
  • With support of the F&P department, manage produce supply issues and update LDC on produce related contract and supply changes. 
  • Adhere to scheduled LDC meeting frequency. Prepare agendas, presentations, and logistics for LDC meetings with timely written recaps to Director, Distribution and Member Support, executive team and respective franchisees.
  • Maintain franchisee and above restaurant leader contact lists (email and cell) including semi-annual review and revision. 
  • Plan and execute a minimum of semi-annual in-restaurant visits and/or attend above restaurant leader meetings to gather feedback and share information to the appropriate teams.
  • Assist and address and resolve all member issues and requests timely.
  • Seek fairness in distributor management of franchisees credit terms. Communicate credit risks to Director, Distribution and Member Support, COO and Vice President, Risk Management & CFO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred or equivalent experience 
  • 5-7 years of experience in Foodservice Distribution Operations 
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as a team in a dynamic, fast paced environment 
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions
  • Intermediate level in MS Suite, specifically Excel 
  • Must be able to commute around the restaurants and distributions centers on a regular basis
