Lead Inspector

TalentoHC has partnered with a well-known organization who is seeking a professional and experienced Lead Inspector.

The Lead Inspector is responsible for performing all required inspections, including general visual inspections, reviewing discrepancies for airworthiness, and carrying out additional tasks assigned by the FAA Accountable Manager.

The Lead Inspector supports the organization’s compliance and operational activities to meet FAA regulations. Under the direction of senior leadership, the individual will gain experience in overseeing and managing the repair station’s adherence to regulatory standards, ensuring all maintenance activities comply with FAA rules, internal policies, and safety protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance to customers on product installation and operation.
  • Participate in initial and recurrent training to stay updated on industry standards and company procedures.
  • Train support center personnel, transferring product knowledge and procedures effectively.
  • Travel to training centers and product shows as needed, including internationally.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, including FAR Part 145 and other applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (Title 14 CFRs).
  • Maintain knowledge of FAA updates and communicate relevant changes to the team.
  • Assist in FAA audits and inspections by preparing necessary documentation and records.
  • Conduct and oversee all inspections, including incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, in-process, and final inspections, per Repair Station Manuals.
  • Monitor maintenance and repair operations to ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, assisting in corrective actions for regulatory findings or customer complaints.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with calibration standards and procedures.
  • Identify and tag malfunctioning equipment, ensuring all shelf-life items remain current.
  • Complete and maintain Bench Audits and ESD logs.
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers, suppliers, and employees, ensuring 100% satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to inspection requests related to the Repair Station.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Repair Station, FAA inspectors, Production, and Engineering teams.
  • Support repair technicians as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records for maintenance activities and personnel training.
  • Ensure the Customer Requirements Book is current and accessible for Customer Service Representatives handling outbound orders.
  • Prepare reports for FAA compliance and senior management, documenting key compliance metrics.
  • Assist in implementing employee training programs to meet regulatory requirements.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Undergo training to fully understand the responsibilities of an Accountable Manager.
  • Support the organization in achieving safety, quality, and operational goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work proactively.
  • Sound judgment and ability to exercise discretion.
  • High attention to detail and ability to interpret regulations.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, including FAR Part 145 and Part 121.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate degree, technical school certification, or equivalent experience in avionics training.
  • FAA Airframe license required; FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in aviation, maintenance operations, or quality assurance is a plus.
  • Prior experience in an aviation repair station or maintenance environment is highly desirable.
