Temp Accountant
2-Month Temporary Role | Based in Wellington

We’re seeking a skilled Temp Accountant to provide hands-on support during a transition period. This short-term role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with solid accounting experience and strong technical skills in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). You’ll assist with daily accounting operations, month-end closing, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in an accrual-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily accounting activities, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes and preparation of accurate financial statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
  • Maintain and update records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC); troubleshoot issues and help streamline workflows.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Support audit preparation, budget review, and other ad hoc accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) required; experience with implementation or optimization is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Immediate availability to start and commit for the full 2-month term.
