Job Overview
TalentoHC has partnered with a personal care products company to find an experienced and driven Production Manager-Contract Manufacturing to lead end-to-end production and supply chain operations for a portfolio of consumer goods brands, partnering closely with contract manufacturers to deliver high-quality, on-time products. This role ensures operational excellence from planning through delivery, driving efficiency, quality, and cost optimization across the supply chain. The ideal candidate has deep experience with contract manufacturing vendors, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to manage supplier performance and scale production effectively.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all production activities with contract manufacturers, ensuring adherence to schedules, specifications and quality standards.
- Develop and manage short- and long-term contract manufacturer production plans that align with sales forecasts and inventory targets.
- Partner with procurement, logistics and quality teams to ensure materials, components and packaging are available to support contract manufacturer production timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance, driving accountability through KPIs, audits and regular business reviews and on-site visits.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels across the supply chain while minimizing waste and obsolescence.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for production or supply disruptions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product launches and ensure seamless commercialization.
- Leverage data and MRP systems for forecasting, reporting and decision-making.
- Stay current on market trends, supply risks, and best practices to continuously improve operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, production or operations management.
- Experience managing production through consumer goods contract manufacturers is required.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, demand planning and supplier management principles.
- Proficiency with MRP systems (Sage 100 or other) and data analysis tools such as SQL.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Strong business acumen and ability to balance cost, quality and speed-to-market priorities.
- Experience implementing Lean / Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
Salary: Base $100K – $120K + bonus
