Assistant Director of Maintenance (ADOM)
Overview:
TalentoHC has been retained by a public organization seeking an Assistant Director of Maintenance (ADOM) to support and enhance aircraft maintenance and servicing operations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining compliance with FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 121) and ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of the fleet. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of aviation maintenance operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Maintenance in overseeing base operations and aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring strict compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
  • Supervise and support maintenance personnel, including technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Inspector and other departments to ensure seamless execution of maintenance procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor aircraft servicing schedules and ensure timely maintenance actions to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Participate in Safety Management System (SMS) programs and enforce safety best practices across maintenance operations.
  • Assist in the management of maintenance budgets, optimizing resources and cost efficiencies.
  • Support recruitment, training, and development programs for maintenance personnel, ensuring a highly skilled workforce.
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews, ensuring adherence to FAA Part 121 and company standards.
  • Analyze maintenance data and reports to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for operational troubleshooting, technical issues, and emergency maintenance situations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aeronautics, or a related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification required.
  • 7+ years of experience in the aviation industry, with a focus on maintenance operations.
  • Prior experience with Airbus A320 aircraft platforms preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in an aviation maintenance setting.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations, including Parts 121 and 91.
  • Experience with budget management and resource planning.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency with aircraft maintenance tracking systems and reporting tools.
