Associate Product Development Manager
3-6 month contract
Fort Lauderdale, FL

Overview

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and creative Associate Product Manager to support the development of innovative consumer packaged goods (CPG) from concept through retail launch. This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about bringing ideas to life, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys collaborating across design, operations, packaging, and marketing teams.

As an integral part of the product development team, you will assist the Product Development Manager with all aspects of the product lifecycle — including managing timelines, tracking samples and approvals, and ensuring that projects stay on budget and on schedule. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining project documentation and data across systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment at every stage of development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Product Development Manager in the end-to-end product development process, from concept and design to production and delivery.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (Design, Operations, Packaging, Marketing, and Sales) and external partners to ensure product milestones are met.

  • Create and regularly maintain product trackers, schedules, and status reports within project management software (e.g., Smartsheet).

  • Assist with sample tracking, costing, and product specifications to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Prepare and organize product presentations, line sheets, and other materials for internal meetings and retailer reviews.

  • Support competitive research, trend tracking, and line planning initiatives to inform product strategy.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail in reviewing product submissions, packaging artwork, and production samples.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in product development, product management, or project management within a consumer products or CPG industry.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience using project management tools such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, or Asana.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

  • Passion for consumer products, brand storytelling, and innovation within the CPG space.
