Contract – Hybrid in Miami

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for managing and administering qualified retirement plans, employee stock purchase plans (ESPP), and overseeing benefit budgets and invoicing. This role requires strong expertise in benefits administration, compliance, and employee guidance. The analyst will serve as a liaison between benefits, finance, accounting, payroll, and HRIS functions, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless plan operations and employee engagement. The role also supports strategic initiatives, system enhancements, and compliance efforts while managing a benefits budget of approximately $50 million.

Responsibilities

  • Administer health and welfare programs including medical, dental, vision, FSAs, HSAs, COBRA, life insurance, retirement, disability, and voluntary benefits.
  • Process benefits transactions such as new hire enrollments, life events, terminations, and payroll adjustments.
  • Research and resolve employee inquiries by partnering with vendors, brokers, and internal teams.
  • Provide excellent customer service, resolve escalations, and manage the benefits inquiry inbox.
  • Oversee the administration of qualified retirement plans and ESPP, including loans, integrations, and enrollments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations, including discrimination testing, 401(k) true-up matching, and annual audits.
  • Support employee education sessions, compliance communications, and benefit plan updates.
  • Maintain payroll system accuracy for deductions and loan payments; assist with HRIS/IT system enhancements.
  • Code and process benefit provider invoices; prepare and approve wire requests.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual/forecast and report significant variances to finance and accounting teams.
  • Represent the benefits team in new plan implementations, annual enrollment, and system configuration.
  • Document and map benefit processes; train and onboard new team members and contractors.
  • Assist with new hire benefits orientations, annual enrollment, and employee communications.
  • Generate ad hoc reports from HRIS and payroll systems to support benefit initiatives.
  • Review ACA reporting and conduct discrimination testing; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in benefits or total rewards, including retirement and health & welfare administration.
  • Strong background in HR systems administration, reporting, and testing (experience with Oracle HCM, bswift, Ceridian Payroll, or similar platforms preferred).
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements under ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and related regulations.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage projects and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables) and strong Microsoft 365 skills (Teams, Outlook, Word, Forms, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of self-motivation, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under pressure with urgency and flexibility.
