Director of Maintenance Control

Overview:

Talento HC is pleased to partner with a global airline in the search for a Director of Maintenance Control. This position is responsible for leading the Maintenance Control organization and ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and operational readiness of the airline's fleet. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, efficient coordination of maintenance operations, and a strong safety-first culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Maintenance Control operations to ensure timely aircraft maintenance and repair.
  • Provide technical direction and facilitate resolution of complex aircraft issues.
  • Ensure all Maintenance Control personnel are trained and qualified.
  • Maintain clear communication with SOC and other operational departments regarding aircraft status.
  • Monitor maintenance performance for potential or chronic technical issues.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance scheduling and aircraft routing.
  • Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations (CFRs) and internal policies.
  • Identify and troubleshoot repetitive aircraft issues.
  • Administer Deferred Maintenance Items (DMI) and ensure accuracy of documentation.
  • Monitor the Maintenance Forecast Report and oversee execution of maintenance plans.
  • Maintain timely communication during maintenance events until aircraft return to service.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of MISR/SDR reporting.
  • Maintain accurate Controller Logs and shift turnover forms.
  • Represent Company’s Technical Operations at operational meetings, including daily status calls.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and compliance.

Requirements:

  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings (A&P)
  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance control or related operations
  • Widebidy aircraft systems experience
  • Knowledge of Maintenance softare, AMOS preferred.
