OVERVIEW:
Talento has partnered with a global industry leader in supply chain solutions looking for a Director of Sales who will provide strategic leadership, direction and oversight of the sales organization across targeted industries. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence and achieving profitability goals through the development and execution of comprehensive sales strategies. The Director of Sales collaborates cross-functionally to align sales efforts with broader company objectives. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, entrepreneurial leader with a proven track record in strategic planning, team development and high-impact execution. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates operational discipline and brings a strong commitment to excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Planning & Market Growth: lead the development and execution of annual business strategies across products, equipment and technology. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to guide pricing, product positioning and customer focus.
  • Financial Leadership: Drive sales and profitability goals by overseeing sales plans, budgets and forecasting. Optimize capacity, throughput and margins while analyzing performance metrics to ensure financial health.
  • Team Leadership & Execution: Guide and hold sales teams accountable to strategic goals and customer growth initiatives. Establish performance metrics, lead key account planning and drive expansion into new markets.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, NPD, Finance and HR to ensure unified execution of strategic initiatives. Drive enterprise-wide alignment, contribute to KPI development and support executive-level decision-making.
  • Talent Development & Culture: Build and mentor a high-performing, diverse sales organization through coaching, structured feedback and development programs. Support recruiting, retention and succession planning.
  • Vision & Brand Stewardship: Champion company values, vision and mission. Serve as a brand ambassador and change leader, fostering engagement and a forward-looking culture.
  • Operational Support & Governance: Oversee sales operations elements including compensation, incentives, forecasting and budget control. Support continuous improvement and innovation across sales practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Marketing or related field
  • 12+ years of consultative, solution-based sales experience across multiple manufacturing channels; experience in environmental solutions required
  • 5+ years of proven success in sales leadership, including building, coaching and managing high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to exceed revenue and profitability goals in competitive markets
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of sales drivers, margin management and customer value creation
  • Skilled at attracting, developing and retaining top talent in a collaborative, innovative and growth-focused environment
  • Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, with a track record of building trusted, productive customer relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility at all organizational levels, including C-suite
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Highly collaborative, with strong cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to resolve issues across departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce or CRM experience strongly preferred
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR), due to company vehicle usage
  • Willingness to travel 60-70%
