About the Opportunity
TalentoHC has partnered with a Global Music Company seeking an experienced Director of Compensation and Benefits to lead the design, implementation, and administration of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs that support our unique culture and business objectives. This role will own the total rewards strategy—including compensation benchmarking (in partnership with WTW), payroll oversight, benefits management, and compliance across all related areas.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our client’s Los Angeles office, with in-person collaboration 3 days per week and remote work 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage base pay structures, incentive plans, and equity programs across a diverse workforce
- Support the design, administration, and communication of equity compensation programs, including stock options and RSUs, in partnership with Legal and Finance
- Conduct regular market benchmarking, salary surveys, and competitive analysis to maintain market competitiveness (including managing the benchmarking relationship with WTW)
- Lead the annual compensation review cycle
- Drive employee recognition and rewards initiatives that enhance engagement and retention
- Oversee the design, communication, and administration of benefit programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and escalations
- Lead and manage Open Enrollment planning, communication, and execution
- Evaluate and recommend benefit plan changes to improve employee satisfaction and cost-effectiveness
- Manage relationships with benefit brokers, vendors, and third-party administrators
- Oversee payroll alignment and partner with Finance/HR Ops to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Manage office perks, wellness offerings, and other employee engagement programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across compensation, benefits, and payroll
- Deliver reports on total rewards metrics
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring data accuracy and policy alignment
- Perform additional total rewards responsibilities as needed to support the HR function
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards
- Deep understanding of federal and state labor laws and compliance
- Experience managing Open Enrollment and benefits administration
- Strong knowledge of compensation benchmarking methodologies; experience partnering with providers such as WTW
- Proven ability to collaborate with Finance/Payroll to ensure accurate and compliant pay processing
- Experience processing or partnering on multi-state payroll
- Experience managing vendors, brokers, and third-party administrators
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with HRIS, Excel, and compensation tools
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Clear and professional verbal/written communication skills
- Knowledge of 401(k) plan administration and related processes
