The Head of Technology is a member of MHA’s senior leadership team, responsible for leading the technology department and overseeing the development and implementation of innovative solutions that support the organization’s vision and goals. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Head of Technology will influence and leverage external and internal synergies across functions and partner businesses to ensure product and technology alignment as we execute collaboratively toward results. The Head of Technology will lead a dynamic and results-driven team with a passion for building tech-enabled business products.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build, lead, and inspire a world-class team of engineers and product managers.
- Establish a high performing, one-team product and technology culture and roadmap emphasizing innovation, growth, and development that addresses current internal and external customer needs while anticipating future market trends of the long-term care community
- Identify opportunities and challenges in the marketplace, with constant evaluation of technological advancements and innovation to mitigate impediments, drive success and generate revenue.
- Collaborate with business units and leadership to ensure unified business product and technology strategies with overall corporate objectives and long-term vision and growth plans.
- Foster an inclusive, customer-centric culture, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Act as a public facing thought-leader, addressing prospective clients and partners to understand their needs and/or help to acquire them as customers or partners.
- Oversee all stages of product and technical development from conceptualization to post-launch performance.
- Define product and technical requirements and systems architecture with clarity on feasibility, time, cost, and impact.
- Establish and maintain the technology standards, policies, and best practices, ensuring compliance with the industry regulations and the organizational values.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance and quality of the technology solutions, identifying and resolving any issues or risks.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, trends, and opportunities, and recommend appropriate solutions that can enhance the organizational capabilities and competitive advantage
- Effectively and clearly communicate the technology vision, strategy, and status to the relevant audiences, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:
- 10+ years’ as a product and technology leader in a high growth, digital solutions organization, preferably healthcare focused.
- Seasoned experience architecting & building products from pre-launch through maturity.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- MBA, STEM Master’s Degree are preferred
- Experience scaling related products, overseeing their build from MVP to mass scale.
- Proven success in creating and owning a wholistic product roadmap strategy. Understanding of how to prioritize timelines based on short-term customer needs vs. long-term growth initiatives.
- Deep understanding of a marketplace or dual-sided healthcare network business model (e.g. GPO, PSAO), ensuring efficient and optimal user experience for both the supply and demand side of the platform.
- Experience with building service-based architecture including use of micro services frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure services.
- Demonstrable experience with ERP, CRM and HR SaaS platforms
- Focused analytical and problem-solving skills – including requirements analysis, debugging and risk assessment.
- Execution oriented mindset with evidence of driving fast impact and results.
- Exceptional leadership and team management acumen as a player-coach, with the ability to inspire and motivate lean teams to achieve results.
- Data-driven mindset, with demonstrated success in reporting on metrics to internal leaders and Board of Directors.
