The HR Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the T&C department, ensuring policies, procedures, and programs are effectively managed. This role encompasses a broad range of HR functions, including payroll administration, benefits management, employee relations, training and development, compensation oversight, organizational growth, and talent acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & HR Operations:
- Supervise payroll, benefits, and 401(k) administration to enhance efficiency and value for the business.
- Provide strategic leadership for the T&C department, fostering a culture of engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, working closely with the Controller to maintain compliance and a 99% accuracy rate.
- Manage healthcare enrollment for new employees, oversee qualifying events, and update HR systems with benefits-related changes.
- Administer 401(k) contributions, including tracking company matches and loan repayments, ensuring 100% compliance.
- Collaborate with the VP of T&C in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Assist in budget management, including oversight of department expenses and invoice reconciliation.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations, including Vets 4212, EEO-1, Section 125 Plans, and AAP reporting.
- Oversee the documentation and reporting of workplace incidents, ensuring proper procedures are followed, including required drug testing.
- Partner with internal teams to enhance workplace safety programs and integrate safety protocols into the company culture.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition for new hires and departing employees.
- Support the VP of T&C in executing organizational development initiatives and strategic projects aligned with company objectives.
- Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Serve as a key resource for employee relations, addressing workplace concerns proactively and fostering an inclusive and productive work environment.
- Oversee the company’s Total Rewards Program, ensuring competitive compensation, benefits, and career development opportunities.
- Work alongside the VP of T&C to refine and expand employee recognition programs, promoting a culture of appreciation and motivation.
- Manage the annual performance review process and facilitate goal-setting initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing multiple HR functions.
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is highly desirable.
- Strong background in employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, compensation management, and compliance.
- Expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational development.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, lead cross-functional teams, and drive measurable outcomes.

- Strong emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate complex interpersonal situations with professionalism and discretion.
