Title: Lead Risk Security Analyst

Job Summary:
The Lead Risk Security Analyst is responsible for assessing and managing cybersecurity risks across the University to protect information assets and support academic and operational excellence. This role partners with departments across the institution to identify threats, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments of systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT, and administrative units to address cybersecurity risks.
- Monitor cybersecurity trends, threats, and regulatory changes.
- Evaluate third-party vendors for cybersecurity compliance.
- Maintain risk documentation and reports.
- Support incident response and policy development.
- Ensure alignment with NIST frameworks and other standards.
- Work closely with audit, compliance, and legal teams.
- Available during University emergencies and off-hours when needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree or certifications (CRISC, CISA, CISSP).
- Experience in higher education and with NIST frameworks.
- Strong skills in risk analysis and reporting tools.
