TalentoHC has been engaged by a global airline with 30,000 employees seeking a Base Line Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage aircraft maintenance activities at one of its key operational hubs. This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for ensuring the highest levels of safety, compliance, and efficiency in base maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, and coordinate all base maintenance operations to ensure aircraft are serviced, repaired, and returned to service on time and in full compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and support personnel.
  • Oversee long-term maintenance projects, heavy checks, structural repairs, and engineering modifications at the base.
  • Develop and maintain processes to ensure full adherence to FAA and other international aviation regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as aircraft availability, on-time delivery, cost control, and technician productivity.
  • Partner with engineering, planning, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to optimize scheduling and resource utilization.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
  • Manage base budgets, staffing levels, tooling, and training requirements in alignment with operational needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors related to base maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in aircraft maintenance, including at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing base or heavy maintenance operations.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, MRO processes, and aviation regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience managing large teams in a union and non-union environment.
  • Ability to lead under pressure in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational setting.
