Litigation Paralegal
Overview
TalentoHC has partnered with a corporate, real estate, and litigation law firm to find a Sr. Litigation Paralegal, with real estate litigation experience to join the team and help support a busy litigation practice group. Must have a paralegal certificate and minimum of 10 years of significant experience in litigation matters, preferably commercial real estate litigation (lease disputes, unlawful detainer actions, and/or construction defect).
Responsibilities:
- Commercial Landlord/Tenant and Civil Litigation experience
- Preparing discovery, subpoenas, e-discovery, e-document management, legal searches
- Working familiarity with commercial leases
- Default prove up for breach of lease matters
- Manage document production utilizing discovery vendors like Relativity and Novus
- Manage timeline for the discovery process
- Organize and maintain exhibits
- Manage case files, both electronic and hard copies
- Research and pull documents from Westlaw and various court dockets, including downloading filed documents as needed
- Familiarity with State Court, Federal Court and Appellate Court Rules
- Manage and assist with electronic court filings, including preparing documents for filing and assist with other Litigation Department projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate or other qualification under BPC 6450(c) required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of professional legal experience
- Team player and colleague who is reliable and positive
- High level of proficiency and comfort with technology and software (including Workshare and Adobe)
- Ability to multitask and handle administrative tasks as needed within the team
- Ability to work well under pressure and available for occasional overtime
- Ability to handle filings (both hard copy and electronic) easily
- Strong organizational skills
- E-discovery skills
- Ability to effectively manage, think proactively, and take initiative
- Ability to manage and prioritize a large number of cases and attorney requests
- Strong “Client-facing” skills and commitment to quality of service
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced skills in Microsoft Word (styles, track changes, TOC/TOA, high-level formatting) and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint a plus
- Macros skills preferred
- Familiarity with document management systems; NetDocuments experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality of work § Ability to shift gears quickly when given an urgent task
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
Details:
- Billable Hour Requirement: 1,500 hours
- Compensation: Base salary range $115,000 – $130,000
