Overview
TalentoHC is partnering with a category-leading Consumer Packaged Goods company to find a Product Manager. The Product Manager is responsible for supporting and managing specific product lines within the International Business Team. They will maximize long-term profitability by driving business and product strategy, execution and results. The Product Manager will support P&L results and is responsible for the health of their assigned product portfolios for International and U.S. export businesses.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Management: proactively manage a portfolio of products; plan and drive growth through revenue and profit building blocks; lead all aspects of product life-cycle management including the product portfolio strategy, product management, pricing guidelines, product development, product enhancements and SKU optimization
  • Strategic Planning: assist in developing and implementing multi-year and annual strategies for assigned product lines; also creating annual financial goals and budgets including revenue, gross margin, COGS, price and portfolio mix aligned to strategic priorities
  • Pricing/COGS: assist in developing and implementing pricing strategy for the assigned product lines and recommend pricing decisions as needed; support cross-functional efforts to discover and execute cost-reduction initiatives that do not negatively impact the customer/consumer experience
  • Innovation: collaborate with other functions to identify and commercialize new product development and innovation projects to support growth and capacity expansion; ensure projects deliver the predicted business benefits
  • Customer/Competitive Insights: analyze customers, competitors and markets to develop insights to inform and to drive successful implementation of strategies
  • Customer Development: partner with sales to drive relationships with key customers and provide direction on product line focus areas to maximize sales and profitability
  • Marketing Strategy: collaborate with marketing and sales teams on product-line marketing including brand strategy, brand standards, channel marketing messaging and brand activation to achieve desired customer outcomes and financial results
  • Demand Planning: work closely with sales and supply chain management teams on demand planning and forecasting to achieve desired financial and customer outcomes (e.g. minimize excess inventory and maximize fill rates for key product lines).

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing/management with 2+ years in international markets
  • Consumer product industry experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills to clearly communicate intricate job-related processes that ultimately affect decision making
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to assess complex business challenges and develop actionable solutions 
  • Analytical mindset and strong knowledge/experience working with financial concepts such as ROI, NPV (net present value), DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) and other related analysis methods
  • Adept at building cross-functional relationships (sales, pricing, manufacturing, supply chain and marketing) 
  • Experience in developing and pricing strategies and managing implementation
  • Experience in forecasting and demand planning
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and project management/organizational skills to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused, rapidly changing work environment with minimal lead times and multiple competing priorities 
  • SAP and PowerBI experience preferred 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets
  • Ability to travel 10-20% for market visits, trade shows, company meetings and customer calls
  • Bilingual Spanish (intermediate level – read, write and speak)
