Production Manager
Talento has partnered with a privately held organization in South Florida on a search for a Production Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves managing staff, coordinating production schedules, optimizing workflows, and maintaining high-quality standards to meet production goals and deliver exceptional products.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and production targets.
- Monitor and control production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Optimize production workflows to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize waste.
- Supervise and lead a team of production workers, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, address issues, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Implement and monitor safety procedures and promote a culture of safety on the production floor.
- Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards and specifications.
- Address and resolve any quality issues or defects promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain consistent product quality and compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods to ensure production continuity.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment, coordinating with the maintenance team as necessary.
- Implement cost-control measures to stay within budget while maintaining production efficiency.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects, including Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies to incorporate best practices into the production process.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production reports, including performance metrics, production volumes, and downtime analysis.
- Ensure proper documentation of production processes, quality control procedures, and safety protocols.
- Provide regular updates and reports to upper management regarding production performance and any significant issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role, with a proven track record of managing teams and optimizing production processes.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- This position requires working on-site in a manufacturing environment.
- The role may involve standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and exposure to noise and machinery.
