TalentoHC is actively partnered with an enterprise level organization actively seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join their Accounting team.
The candidate will support Accounting leadership in SEC reporting, derivatives, technical accounting research, and process controls. Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met, requiring occasional extended hours. Collaborate with internal teams, produce financial reports, perform calculations, and maintain supporting documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare derivative accounting reports and assist in transaction analysis.
- Review contracts for lease classification, embedded derivatives, and accounting implications.
- Assist with technical accounting topics (e.g., goodwill, valuations, segment reporting).
- Support SEC filings and external financial statements.
- Conduct research on accounting standards and maintain policies.
- Assist with debt/equity filings and SOX documentation.
- Respond to audit requests and manage compliance requirements.
- Handle special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting; CPA required.
- Experience: 3+ years in public accounting or technical accounting for a public company (Big 4 preferred).
- Skills: Strong GAAP knowledge, SEC reporting, derivatives accounting, Microsoft Office (Excel/Word), and financial systems (PeopleSoft, Hyperion Essbase preferred).
- Competencies: Detail-oriented, analytical, deadline-driven, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
