Systems Engineer
TalentoHC is collaborating with a Daytona, FL company to strengthen their IT capabilities through the addition of a skilled Systems Engineer. This role requires proficiency in designing and maintaining VMware Horizon VDI, VMware vSphere, and Hyper-V server environments. The ideal candidate will provide detailed technical analyses, recommendations, project plans, and cost projections for server and SAN projects. They will also possess expertise in implementing and managing storage area networks (SAN) and database systems, as well as integrating new technologies into the existing data center environment.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and maintain VMware environments to optimize virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Deploy and manage VMware vSphere and Hyper-V Server Environment for robust virtualization solutions.
- Engineer and manage storage area networks (SAN) and Database Systems to support data integrity and accessibility.
- Plan, implement, analyze, design, and maintain computer hardware, operating system software, data storage, and database management systems in a complex multi-system environment.
- Provide support and resolve issues for LAN, WLAN, and WAN.
- Monitor networks and systems to verify integrity and availability.
- Install and configure network hardware, including cables, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as system diagrams and standard operating procedures.
- Perform backup operations to ensure data recoverability and manage physical storage and security of backup media.
- Conduct OS updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Requirements:
- Minimum of three years of experience in IT Systems Engineering or Virtualization Engineering.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere ESXi and Hyper-V environments.
- Experience with VMware Horizon VDI Environment.
- Strong understanding of Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Switching, Routing, Firewalls).
- Ability to monitor and maintain network security at all levels.
- Design and implementation of computer server environments, including security backup, recovery, maintenance, and automation.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and backup procedures.
- Skills in evaluating and recommending computer hardware and software.
- Capability in planning, coordinating, and scheduling projects.
- Experience in system analysis, tuning, and administration of Windows, Linux, or Solaris servers.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and VBScript scripting languages.
