Tax Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Review income tax returns for estates, trusts (Form 1041), and tax-exempt organizations (Form 990).
- Assess trust documents to determine their income tax status, identifying grantor vs. non-grantor and simple vs. complex trusts.
- Collaborate with clients’ attorneys and other advisors.
- Stay updated on current tax practices and changes in tax laws.
- Partner with Principals to manage engagement budgets and staff utilization, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct research projects pertinent to the estate and trust practice.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships to enhance team dynamics.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of firm services, vision, business strategies, and processes to strengthen client relationships.
- Participate in ongoing personal development aligned with the firm’s growth and development strategy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of related tax experience, ideally within a public accounting firm or law firm.
- MS in Taxation with CPA licensure or a law degree.
- Proficiency in reviewing Form 1041 and estate planning.
- Strong team player with a dedication to producing high-quality, detailed work.
- Self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Professional demeanor with strong client interaction skills.
