Compensation: $40-$45/hr DOE

About the Opportunity

PeterSan is partnering with a well-regarded firm in NYC that is hiring a Temporary Litigation Paralegal to support their litigation team.

This is a temporary assignment (potentially long-term). The Ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage their own workload and work with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide substantive litigation and case management support from case inception through trial or resolution.
• Prepare, review, and finalize correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other submissions; coordinate filing and service in local, state, federal and appellate courts.
• Assist with document formatting and finalization to ensure professional presentation and compliance with applicable court and individual judge requirements, including preparation of Table of Contents, Table of Authorities and hyperlinking, when necessary.
• Conduct legal and factual research; cite-check and fact-check; research applicable Federal, State and local rules, and individual judges’ rules and procedures with filings and procedural requirements.
• Coordinate discovery, including document collection, review, organization, Bates labeling, productions, and collaboration with the IT Department and e-Discovery vendors.
• Prepare deposition materials, including exhibits, subpoenas, notices, and related documentation.
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits, trial binders, witness materials and logistics.
• Maintain accurate, organized electronic case files and litigation materials.
• Coordinate with attorneys, clients, court personnel, vendors and internal support teams to advance assignments effectively.
• Identify issues proactively, recommend practical solutions, and ensure work product complies with applicable court and individual judge requirements.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of substantive litigation experience
• Strong civil/commercial litigation background
• Hands-on experience with pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
• Proficiency with NYSCEF, PACER, and CM/ECF
• Strong understanding of NY State and Federal court procedures
• Ability to manage assignments independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation: $40-$45/hr DOE
