AP Clerk – Part Time Contract (20 hours)

Talento has partnered with an education institution in San Francisco, in search of an AP Clerk to join their team. This role is integral to maintaining efficient financial operations and ensuring accurate student billing. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background and prior experience in student billing, with a focus on providing excellent service to students and their families. As an AP Clerk, you will handle accounts payable transactions, resolve billing issues, and support the financial needs of our community, all while upholding the Conservatory’s commitment to excellence in music education.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including invoice receipt, verification, and payment.
  • Reconcile invoices and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and vendors to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the Student Accounts Office to address billing issues and provide updates.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and summaries as needed.
  • Support the monthly and annual closing processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Uphold confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in student billing or a similar financial role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with financial software.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with student information systems or educational financial management software.
  • Experience working in an educational or non-profit organization.
