Director of Sales, Foodservice Material Handling 
Remote w/40% Travel

OVERVIEW:
Talento has partnered with a global industry leader in supply chain solutions looking for a Director of Sales, Enterprise Solutions to drive enterprise business solution sales in the Foodservice industry. They will lead the sales strategy over a team of enterprise National Account and Territory Sales Managers. The Director of Sales will focus on achieving rapid market conversion by breaking down high level strategic plans into executable strategies. They will also develop a strategy to keep their team educated with a rapidly growing product portfolio and a complex sales process involving multiple decision makers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and execute sales strategy by analyzing prospects and customers, market trends, and budget.
  • Analyze where commercialized offerings create the most customer value and adapt the structure and work of the team.
  • Define tactical goals for the enterprise sales team that deliver direction for planning and action, focusing and prioritizing on accounts and territories.
  • Build strong cross functional relationships with the marketing, customer service, category management and procurement teams to deliver forecasting, customer service and strategy.
  • Drive accountability by developing KPIs around sales activity, performance and profitability targets.
  • Monitor Salesforce to identify opportunities to improve reporting and process flow.
  • Stay up to date on product/service offerings, economic indicators, changing trends and competitor activity.
  • Effectively communicate the division’s strategy and vision and develop team while measuring sales metrics and taking appropriate actions to correct when goals are not met.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture through encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing and continuous learning and development.
  • Develop team through in field and virtual sales meetings, role play and timely feedback.
  • Lead effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of sales team.
  • Ensure sales representatives are aligned with the company and division go-to-market strategies.
  • Establish weekly calls with sales team to stay abreast of opportunities, challenges, wins and industry insights.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers to drive value creation and meet objectives.
  • Use customer feedback to adapt and improve sales strategy.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and collaborate with internals teams re: customer demand forecast and production supply to ensure that stock levels meet demand for goods and services.
  • Relay forecast and demand planning information to sales team to keep customers updated.
  • Drive effective communication across all verticals.
  • Respond effectively to changing market dynamics and new business information.
  • Attend trade shows, seminars and customer meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of all customer accounts receivable past 60 days.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing or related field
  • 10+ years of enterprise sales experience for B2B supply chain solutions; Foodservice industry experience preferred
  • 3+ years in managing and developing a sales team  
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) and sales operations processes, including the management of pilot programs
  • Strong leader with track record of managing, motivating and developing a field sales team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a customer-centric mindset and a consultative sales approach
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate geographically dispersed sales teams, driving results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think creatively and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Acceptable motor vehicle report due to the operation of a company vehicle
  • Ability to travel 40%+ by airplane

Comp Range: $160-$175k (DOE) + 30% bonus + company car
