Sr. Electrical Engineer – Avionics

Overview
TalentoHCM has partnered with an industry leading provider of satellite products and services that is in search for a Sr. Electrical Engineer specializing in Avionics responsible for the design and development of electrical systems and avionics for a cutting-edge in-flight internet connectivity solution. This role will involve close collaboration with various teams and external partners to ensure a successful implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and evaluate electrical, avionics, and related systems for the company's broadband internet connectivity product, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Select and source electrical components and materials, considering factors such as reliability, durability, and compatibility with aviation standards.
  • Integrate electrical systems into the overall aircraft design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop test plans and procedures, oversee testing activities, and analyze results to verify system performance and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with aviation regulations and certification requirements, ensuring all systems meet relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with electrical systems, developing contingency plans for unforeseen issues.
  • Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers, providing guidance and expertise in electrical engineering principles and aviation-specific knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aviation, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 7 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on aviation or aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAA, EASA) and experience with aircraft design methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aviation, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies (DO-254, DO-160).
  • A working knowledge of the STC process.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design and simulation.
