Technical Writer – Software Engineering
Talento has partnered with national company on a search for a Technical Writer with a software engineering background. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and understand code (.net/c#) and transform it into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. This role involves working closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to produce high quality documentation. 

Responsibilities

  • Documentation Development: Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including user guides, API documentation, software development kits, release notes, and system manuals.
  • Collaboration: Work with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand documentation requirements.
  • Technical Accuracy: Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and reflects the latest software features and functionalities.
  • User-Friendly Content: Write clear and concise documentation that can be easily understood by both technical and non-technical users.
  • Content Management: Manage and organize documentation in content management systems or other documentation tools.
  • Review and Edit: Review and edit documentation created by other team members to ensure consistency and adherence to style guidelines.
  • User Feedback: Collect and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve documentation quality and usability.
  • Training and Support: Provide support and training to team members and end-users on using and understanding documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related field 
  • 5+ years of combined professional experience in software engineering and technical writing (BA/PM)
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with programming languages (.NET/C#)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation 
  • Experience with documentation tools and platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines 
  • Able to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable 
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects and stakeholders
