Talento is partnered with a Healthcare Solutions organization seeking a Collections Specialist to join their Accounting team to support our client's growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collections and reduce outstanding balances.
  • Coordinate billing processes, including the proper application of contractual obligations and adjustments.
  • Communicate trends and patterns in collections to the claims and finance team to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure all internal and external deadlines related to billing and collections are met.
  • Review 835s and rebill claims as necessary to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate billing.
  • Review 277/277CA responses and take appropriate actions to address any issues or errors.
  • Work closely with insurance companies to gather information on claim status and facilitate accurate claim dispositions.
  • Maintain accurate records of billing and collection activities, including documentation of communications with stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and billing procedures to ensure compliance and optimize revenue cycle management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in revenue cycle management (RCM), with a focus on billing procedures and collections.
  • Proven knowledge of billing procedures, including the proper application of contractual obligations and adjustments.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing and reimbursement processes, including familiarity with 835 and 277/277CA transactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and patterns in collections data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with billing and collection software preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to resolve billing and collection issues.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Bilingual – English & Spanish required.
