The Role
The Director, Corporate Development will play a crucial role in our growth strategy that contributes to the overall financial performance of the organization, focusing on the identification, acquisition, and integration of firms to expand our capabilities and market  reach. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills as well as well-developed relationships within the recruiting and staffing industry.

How You Make an Impact
In this role, you will play a key role in developing and executing the company’s growth strategy. The Corporate Development Director will evaluate and execute acquisitions, under the direction of the CEO and Finance Director, make strategic decisions based on industry research and analysis, and collaborate with senior leadership to actively drive corporate growth, sustainability, and profitability

What you would be responsible for:

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential acquisition targets
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive landscape, and financial metrics to prioritize targets
  • Proactively identify suitable acquisition targets based on geographic profile, service offerings, industry overlap, and potential cross-selling opportunities
  • Create a funnel of potential M&A opportunities based on strategic priorities

Relationship Management:

  • Initiate and maintain strong relationships with potential acquisition targets, industry experts, and partners
  • Serve as the primary contact point for all communications with potential targets
  • Articulate the Company’s narrative to potential acquisition targets in the marketplace, establishing rapport and credibility with business owner

Deal Structuring and Negotiation:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop acquisition criteria and strategy
  • Direct the post-acquisition integration process to facilitate a seamless transition and alignment with company objectives
  •  Document diligence findings and ensure essential insights gathered during due diligence are conveyed facilitating a smooth post-closing integration process

Due Diligence and Integration:

  • Coordinate due diligence efforts in collaboration with legal, financial, and operational teams
  • Lead the post-acquisition integration process to ensure a smooth transition and alignment with company goals
  • Document diligence findings and ensure key learnings during diligence are captured by EFE’s internal integration teams to allow for a smooth integration process post-closing

Project Management:

  • Oversee multiple acquisition projects simultaneously, ensuring they progress on schedule and within budget
  • Report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities
  • Manage and track the M&A pipeline, with regular follow-ups, calls, and in-person meetings to continue developing and refreshing acquisition opportunities
  • Clear and timely communication of issues identified during diligence, with ability to either address or creatively solve material problems

Experience and knowledge requirements for the Lead Recruiter

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of the recruiting and staffing industry is a plus.
  • Fluent in English
