TalentoHC is partnered with a well-known Boats Group is excited to announce that we’re looking for a Director of Technical Accounting to join our US Finance team. We are seeking a driven individual with advanced technical accounting skills who will report to the VP of Accounting. Bring your technical accounting experience to this highly visible and cross-functional role!
What You’ll Do
- Carry out technical accounting research on newly issued accounting guidance, complex transactions, and external reporting requirements.
- Work with multiple departments to discover and find solutions to specific accounting matters.
- Head the development of the organization’s accounting policies and coordinate training for accounting teams
- Manage the external audit process including preparation of financial statements and related disclosures.
- Head the assessment, implementation, and execution of newly issued accounting guidance.
- Provides direct assistance with comment letters, inquiries, and census filings.
- Reassess accounting procedures for alignment with GAAP and SOX.
- Maintains all process narratives. Responsible for updating narratives, performing walkthroughs, and key controls testing.
- Direct assistance with all technical accounting questions.
- Supervises intercompany accounting, including transfer pricing studies, FX, and IFRS to US GAAP adjustments.
- Management of special projects as assigned.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 8+ years of relevant financial experience
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work through complex problems and implement effective solutions
- Superior communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
- Demonstrated leadership and motivational management style with the ability to align roles with strengths and mentor for development
- Experience working directly with senior management and department leaders
- Strong business acumen is a must, as well as strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to draw conclusions based on data
- CPA required, Big 4 experience preferred.
- We are a Hybrid organization and bring the office together on a regular basis. At this time, we are unable to offer relocation assistance.
